Welcome to our events page! Here you’ll find regularly updated information on all our upcoming community activities:

  • Wednesday 25th June 9am-11am: Join us and experts from Butterfly Conservation at Wigg Island to learn about White Letter Hairstreak butterflies, and, if we’re lucky, hopefully spot some hovering around the Elm trees!
  • Sunday 29th June 11am-2pm: we will be joined by RECORD for a National Insect Week event at Spike Island! Expect bug hunts, species ID, and getting a closer look under the microscope!
  • 9th – 30th July 2025: Wednesday Walks. Join us for a weekly walk starting at Spike Island. You can join for all 4 or just 1 of the walks, each week we will explore a different theme:

9th July: History and Ecology of the Mersey estuary (aimed at adults) – a guided walk of the area with opportunities to learn about the history and ecology of the Mersey estuary

16th July: Wildlife of the Mersey estuary (aimed at adults) – a group walk with opportunities to identify a learn about wildlife encountered

23rd July: Walking and wellbeing (aimed at adults) – a group walk with optional wellbeing activities such as mindfulness and gratitude

30th July: Estuary Explorers (aimed at families with children) – an exploration of the area with activities such as scavenger hunts and nature crafts
